THYME - THE MAGICAL HERB

 
The medical, culinary, cosmetic, spiritual and magical properties of the herb 'Thyme'

Medicinal
Thyme is particularly beneficial in quieting gastrointestinal complaints. He Greek used thyme for nervous conditions and as a fumigator. A thyme tea has been prescribed for shortness of breath and congested lungs. Apparently the herb has an antispasmodic qualities that make it effective in relieving asthma, whooping cough and stomach cramps. Inflammation may be relived by a poultice.
Culinary
Thyme tastes delicately green with a faintly clove after taste. Leaves and sprigs are use in small salads as garnishes. Thyme works well with veal, lamb beef and poultry, fish sausages, stew, soups and stocks, bread, herbed butters, mayonnaise, flavoured vinegars and mustards.
Cosmetics
With Rosemary – an infusion to use as a hair rinse will darken the hair and keep it soft and silky. As well as free the scalp from dandruff.
Spiritual
Thyme is burned to attract good health and is also worn for this purpose. Placed between the pillows, it insures restful sleep and a pleasant lack of night. When worn it triggers the development of psychic powers. And women who wear a sprig of thyme in their hair become irresistible to men. In spring a magical cleansing bath composed of marjoram and thyme I taken to insure all sorrows and ills of the past are removed from the person.
